Diggs’ Journey: Stronger in Every Way

50+ Pounds Lost. Greater Confidence. A Life Transformed.

April and “Diggs” began their fitness journey together when Diggs was 27. Nine years later, what started with walking, cardiovascular exercise, pool workouts, stretching, and daily gratitude has grown into something much bigger.

Through consistent movement, healthier habits, encouragement, laughter, and a strong support system, Diggs has lost more than 50 pounds and made meaningful improvements in her overall health and confidence.

But her transformation goes far beyond the scale.

Diggs has discovered greater independence, built meaningful friendships, and learned to approach life with a more positive mindset. She has also become part of the Fit by April team, contributing her talents to marketing and social media while proudly serving as Director of “The Hug” Division.

In Diggs’ words:

“With my Fitness Mama, I am more happy. I have lost over fifty pounds, and my transformation is having all the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders. I have friends who support me.”

For April, Diggs’ story is a reminder that fitness isn't simply about losing weight. It's about helping people become stronger, healthier, more confident, and more connected to the life they want to live.

Kenjo’s Journey: Breathing Easier, Living Stronger

40 Pounds Lost. Greater Strength. A Determination to Keep Going.

When April began working with “Kenjo” in 2018, he was 58, living with COPD, struggling with his weight, and relying heavily on supplemental oxygen. He came to April with a simple request: “April, you need to help me.”

They started small.

With guidance from his medical team, April incorporated breathing exercises, walking, stretching, and simple strength exercises using his kitchen counter. What began with just a few minutes of activity gradually grew to as much as 20 minutes of stretching, walking, and strength training.

Nutrition became part of the journey, too. April taught Kenjo how to read food labels and make healthier choices, gradually replacing many of his favorite convenience foods with more nutritious options.

The results were remarkable. Kenjo lost 40 pounds, improved his strength and cardiovascular fitness, and eventually no longer had the collection of oxygen tanks that once filled his apartment.

The day those tanks were gone, Kenjo cried. April cried with him.

Kenjo passed away in April 2025, but April will always remember his determination, humor, faith, and willingness to keep moving forward despite significant health challenges.

Kenjo proved that where you begin doesn't have to determine where you can go. Sometimes greatness begins with a few minutes, a few steps, and the decision to keep going.

Boss Lady’s Journey: Getting Her Energy—and Her Life—Back

More Stamina. Greater Confidence. Energy for What Matters Most.

When April first met “Boss Lady” Lynette in 2020, she was exhausted. Her legs felt heavy, her stamina was low, and despite searching for answers, she struggled to understand why she didn't feel like herself.

Then a business networking meeting brought April and Lynette together—and they connected immediately.

Lynette's first goal was simple: build stamina and feel good about the person she saw in the mirror again.

April showed her that getting fit didn't have to mean exhausting workouts in a gym. Together, they focused on breathing, posture, core strength, stretching, mobility, and movement designed around Lynette's individual needs. For six years, their weekly sessions have continued to evolve, keeping movement interesting, achievable, and meaningful.

Along the way, Lynette eventually received a diagnosis of metabolic syndrome, giving her greater insight into some of the challenges she had been experiencing.

Today, the difference is about much more than a number on the scale. Lynette has regained her energy, improved her stamina and mobility, rediscovered her confidence, and learned to love the person she sees in the mirror.

Now a national speaker traveling across the United States, she can move through airports with confidence, maintain a demanding schedule, and have the energy to keep up with her grandchildren.

For Lynette, success wasn't about becoming someone new. It was about getting back the energy, confidence, and love for life that had been there all along.
